VK2WI Sunday News Broadcasts

Amateur Radio New South Wales conducts two regular Sunday news broadcasts from VK2WI at 63 Quarry Road, Dural.

Morning bulletin

Starts at 10:00am local time with a relay of VK1WIA National News, followed by local VK2WI news from about 10:30am.

Evening bulletin

Starts at 7:30pm local time with an expanded VK2WI bulletin, including the DX report and occasional technical features.

Callbacks are taken after each news broadcast on most frequencies used. Occasional special bulletins are also transmitted, including contest openings such as the WIA RD Contest and the JOTA Opening Address.

Note 1: Transmission using callsign VKE580 has been added to provide linking for manual relay stations. Callbacks cannot be taken on this frequency as it is currently a commercial frequency allocation. Transmission is Upper Sideband (contrary to normal amateur practice below 10MHz).

Submitting items

The preferred way to submit items for inclusion in VK2WI News is by email to news@arnsw.org.au.

Please get items in by Friday evening before the broadcast in which they are to be included.

When submitting news items, please specify whether you would like the item to run for more than one week. Information is also welcome on on-air events and activities; these are included in a weekly summary.

Audio items and reports are welcome. Please email in advance for format and submission details.
