VK2WI Broadcasts
- EVENING 40 METRES MAY GET CLEAR CHANNEL.
VK2WI's evening news has a clear channel again - at
least until the end of March next year. A summer schedule change for the
broadcaster who was on a nearby channel shows no use of this frequency in
this time slot until the end of March 2009. Hopefully then they will move
elsewhere in the 41 Metre band as part of the directive to broadcasters to
clear 7100 to 7200 kHz on or before 29th of March 2009. The clear channel
should assist in the coverage of VK2WI News in the evening now that summer
is approaching and conditions are often cutting up the 80 metre signal.
Check out 7146 kHz and report via the callbacks. The transmission is
currently being made via the callback transceiver.
Work is proceeding with a replacement AM transmitter for 80 metres. Our
apologies to those SWL's and others who only have AM reception ability on
the HF bands. Currently the only AM service from VK2WI is that on 160 metres
- 1845 kHz.
Reports can be sent via the news email - arnews@tpg.com.au - with 'beacon
report' in the subject header.

## Disposals Sale ##

Thanks to all who
participated in the May sale, it was a great success and I am sure the RSPCA
will appreciate the proceeds. We are glad the gear found good homes.
There are a couple of items left which will be included
in our next "Sale" at the 26th July T&T at Dural. It again will be a bumper sale as
we have lots of stuff being sorted and tested.
Special thanks go to Mark VK2XOF (our Station
Engineer) for his time and work on the gear to be sold.
Keep an eye on this notice for details of the next sale
