Australian Satellite Enthusiasts Group

     The Australian Satellite Enthusiasts Group (Ozsatgroup) is a forum for all amateur operators, SWL’ers, and radio hobbyists, who enjoy working or listening to satellite and space based radio systems. We welcome all who are interested in discussing and exploring this fascinating branch of amateur radio.

     The group is operated via a Yahoo group, and includes; a mailing list, shared calendar - used for making satellite sched's, photo library and downloads area. We are also planning a group net.

Paul's Antarctic Expedition
      BMARC Club member Paul VK2JLX has taken up a position with ANARE for several months down in the Antarctic, working out of the Davis research facility.
      Paul has HF capability, so listen out for him. He will be operating under the callsign VK0JLX, on 3615, 10120 and 14270kHz.

Training : Terry Riley VK2UX conducts classes in Amateur Radio Theory, Regulations and CW for anyone interested in becoming an Amateur Radio Operator.

Central Coast Amateur Radio Club Inc. (CCARC)

About the Club

            The club is the focal point for Amateur Radio activities on the Central Coast of NSW. The CCARC was formed in 1957. The club has it’s own clubrooms with a well-equipped radio room (shack) in their Clubhouse at Dandaloo St, Kariong, near Gosford.  They also operate several Voice, Amateur Television and Packet (data) repeaters.            
           The club also supports the Police Youth and Citizens Club’s Amateur Radio room at Umina and the annual Scout and Guides Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) held in October. The P.C.Y.C. Station at Umina has moved into new premises so listen in on Thursday evenings and Saturdays.

Chifley Amateur Radio Club

Meetings

    Just a reminder for members and visitors, that the Chifley Amateur Radio Club is open every Saturday from 1:30pm. So if you have an interest in amateur radio, electronics or associated fields you are most welcome to drop in.
    Meetings are mostly a social gathering and general chin wag, with a business meeting held bi-monthly.
     So instead of mowing that lawn take a few hours off and come on down to the club rooms next Saturday meet some new people, catch up with some old faces, play radio or just have a chat.

Meeting Place
   
The Chifley Amateur Radio Club is located in the grounds of the Good Shepard School in Hyatts Rd Plumpton. Just enter through the gates opposite the Big-W garden centre. So remember the club rooms are open on Saturdays from 1:30pm. Hope to see you there.

Repeaters
    The Chifley Amateur Radio Club operate repeaters on 147.075 and 439.425 with 70cm requiring a 123hz tone for access, this repeater also has the clubs IRLP node of 6050.

The Club hold regular meetings on every Monday night at 7:00pm and on every Thursday morning at 10:00am. They are held at our club house which is in the Rex Hardaker oval, right next to the football field along Hogbin Drive just north of Sawtell.

So you want to join our club!
     Everyone is welcome to join, it doesn't matter if you have an amateur license or not, everyone with an interest in radio is welcome. There are two types of membership. You must have a valid amateur radio license to qualify for full membership. Anyone can join as an associate member.

Gladesville Amateur Radio Club

       Main activities are Amateur Television (ATV). The Gladesville Amateur Radio Club, Inc., located in Sydney (Australia), provides a service to Amateur Radio operators and the general community, by promoting Education and Amateur Radio through the use of Amateur Television.

Transmissions
Wednesday: LIVE transmission from 7:30pm
Friday: Repeat of Wednesday's transmission, starting at 7pm
Saturday: Transmission from 8pm to 10pm approx. Details of
               the evening's transmission appear on the test card
               preceding the transmission.
Sunday:   Starting at 7pm. The transmission includes a relay of the
               VK2WI News.
     Each test transmission is preceded by a test card for about half an hour.
     Occasional transmissions are made via satellite, to various areas across Australia.

Hornsby and Districts
                 Amateur Radio Club
(HADARC)

Meetings
      
The Club usually meets at 8 pm on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the Community Centre, Pierre Close, Mount Colah (just to the east of the pedestrian bridge outside the entrance to the railway station), and visitors are always most welcome. At this meeting there is usually a talk on a radio-related topic, together with Club business.
       On the 2nd Tuesday of each month there is an informal gathering and workshop, when Club members bring along equipment to be tested, and group construction projects are discussed etc. The more experienced members are available to give advice and help with equipment problems and operating skills.

HADARC radio nets
      The Clubs VHF / UHF net is at 8:00pm on Monday evenings, using the Clubs repeaters, 147.250 and 439.975 MHz.  The HF nets are on 3608.5 kHz at 8:00pm Wednesday, and on 7104 kHz on Fridays at 9:00am.  Listen for VK2MA.  The beginners' CW net is on Thursday nights at 8:00pm, with Harry VK2BOL and/or Andy VK2EAH, with liaison on the repeaters.

Hunter Radio Group

The evening net commences at 7.30 pm. The VK2AWX net covers the State on 3593 kHz on 80 metres and to the Newcastle region on 10 and 2 metres, 70 and 23 centimeters. Part of their transmission includes selected highlights of news from the VK2WI session.

Illawarra Amateur Radio Club

Meetings are held on the Second Tuesday of each month (except January) at 19:30 hrs ( 7:30 PM ).

New Meeting Place
    
The Illawarra Amateur Radio Society has a new venue for Monthly Meetings at The Visitors Centre, Industry World.
     You can find the Australia's Industry World (AIW) Visitor Centre at the BlueScope Steel, Northgate Entrance, Springhill Rd, Coniston.       The entrance is marked with extremely large Australian and BlueScope Steel flags.
      Road and rail access are easy. Road connections, via the F6 Freeway and the Princes Highway, are fast and reliable with fine views over the Royal National Park and the Northern Illawarra beaches. From the North, take the Master's Rd exit into Springhill Rd or travel down Corrimal St from the Wollongong Central Business District. Coming from the South, take the Port Kembla exit from the F6 and turn right into Five Islands Rd then the first left into Springhill Rd.
       T
he rail journey to Port Kembla from Sydney is comfortable, with spectacular views. The nearest railway station to  the venue is Coniston, just south of Wollongong. To walk from Coniston Station to the Visitor Centre may take 15-20 minutes.

The Club meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each Month at 10 Julia Close, West Hoxton.

Activities
The members of LADARC are well known for their FM900 mods and they have their own repeater in the Hoxton Park area. They have annual Field Days and Auctions, members are actively involved in WICEN, JOTA and other Amateur Radio events (including the Canoe Classic). members are active on Echolink, IRLP and Packet

Mid North Coast Amateur Radio Group (MNARG)

    The Mid North Coast Amateur Radio Group was formed in March 2007 by a small group of amateur radio enthusiasts who wanted to do something positive for the amateur radio community in their area.
    Everyone is welcome. All you need is an interest in amateur radio. It doesn't matter if you have an amateur radio license or not. Fill out the membership form and send it to the Group or come along to one of our meetings. Phone us if you have any questions.

    The Radio Expo will be held at St John's Church Hall, McLean St, Coffs Harbor on Sunday 20th January 2008, starting time is 8:30am.
   
Entry is $5.00, Commercial Exhibitors, Home Brew Demos, Satellite Equipment, Disposals, Lucky Door Prizes on the hour, technical trivia quiz, guessing comps along with yummy hot and cold food and cool drinks. Free tea, coffee and bickies all day. major prize draws at the end of the day - NOT to be missed.

Orange & Districts Amateur Radio Club

Meetings

  
The Club is located in the Orange district of NSW. Meetings are held on the first Friday of each month (except January) . At the usual venue, the RAAF building, 64 Warrendine St, Orange. Just look for the big missile in the front yard. Meetings start at 7:30pm, all visitors and members are welcome.
   
   Anyone interested in radio &/or electronics is quite welcome. A free light supper at the end of the meeting with an odd yarn or two. 
   Check out the Clubs web site for some good Homebrew projects, including a 2m/70cm antenna with duplexer which can also be used for reception from 100MHz to 1GHz. There is also a very nice setup for a portable repeater station.

Oxley Region Amateur Radio Club Inc.

Meeting
       Visitors are always made very welcome at the club’s monthly general meetings at 2pm on the first Saturday of each month, and a Project Evening on the Friday night gatherings at 7pm on the evenings of the second and fourth Fridays of each month. The venue is the SES building in Gordon Street, Port Macquarie.

Club 2m Repeater
        
The VK2RCN 147.0 MHz Telegraph Point 2 metre repeater has been repaired and is now back on air. This repeater provides excellent coverage of both Port Macquarie and Wauchope.

Training

Tamworth Radio Club Inc


     The Club now meet on the first Friday each month at the new venue - Tamworth / Oxley Scout Hall, a hexagonal brick building on the corner of Carthage and Hall Streets, Tamworth, at 7:30 PM.

Taree and District Amateur Radio Club (TADARC)

Meetings
     The Club meetings on the first Tuesday of each month (except January) at 7:30pm and are usually held at Taree TAFE College, Montgomery Cres, Taree. Our meetings are actually in the Staff Common Room, Upper Floor, Block"A". It is the first building you come to as you drive into the college grounds.

Repeaters - The Club has three voice repeaters, VK2RET on 146.825, VK2RRE on 146.675 and VK2REE on 438.325. There is a club net each Monday night at 1930hrs on its 2m repeaters, which are permanently linked. The net controller uses the Club call sign VK2FRE. Twin Cities Radio and Electronics Club

Meetings
   
Business Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month starting at 20:00 hours. Minutes are published on Club updates page. The third and fourth Mondays are chat and workshop nights at Murray High School, Kaitlers Road, Lavington, science room (someone will always have 2m switched on). The first and fifth Mondays of the month are Net nights on the local repeater 147.000. Net starts at 20:00 EST - if repeater is down - Channel 50 146:500

Meetings

    Regular meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday evening of each month at 7:30pm. A number of us have a meal at the Bistro in the RSL Club next door before the evening meeting (about 6pm) where food is good and reasonably priced. The clubhouse is also open in the afternoon of the 1st Saturday of every month, when work may be carried out to improve the club's amenities and to fix members radio gear. As well, some just go along for a ragchew or to operate the club station.

Waverley's clubhouse is located in the Scout Hall at Vickery Avenue, Rose Bay, behind the RSL Club on New South Head Road; it is easy to find and there is plenty of parking space in the grounds.

Repeaters
     The club runs the Paddington repeaters on 147.025MHz and 438.575MHz, the latter with an IRLP facility, both requiring CTCSS 123Hz due to QRM. The IRLP Node number is 6250. The club has recently started a net at 8:00pm every weekday on our 2m repeater.
